Graham Potter's team delivered the complete performance against a poor Newcastle team who looked out of ideas from the first whistle.

Brighton dominated from the start but had to wait to just before halftime as Leo Trossard opened the scoring with classy and powerful low finish from the edge of the box.

Newcastle's one opportunity came just after the break when Ryan Fraser smacked the post but Danny Welbeck soon made it 2-0.

The former Man United striker cut in from the left and curled a fine effort from 20 yards around Martin Dubravka and inside the post.

Neal Maupay then made it three as he clinically turned home Pascal Gross' fine cross from the right. It was Maupay's eighth goal of the season and his first since he netted the winner at Leeds on January 16.

A fully deserved three points that moves Brighton six points above the drop zone ahead of the international break. Steve Bruce is under pressure and Newcastle are bang in trouble.

Here's how the Brighton fans reacted on social media:

@TheWinnit: Commentator: 'Totally outclassed, you'd have thought Newcastle were playing Barcelona not Brighton!' How dare he think BHA were as shit as Barca #BHAFC #NUFC #BHANEW

@barhamstash: Oh yeah. Also POTTER OUT. Can’t wait to hunt those losers down after the last two games :) #bhafc

@la_gav10ta: He needed that. No more tears now Neal #bhafc

@yorker129_7: It’s just so liberating to watch a #bhafc game for a full 10 minutes and not be worried about how we’re going to balls it up.

@bromWWFC: Graham Potter has this squad of players playing some fantastic football, and if they'd have been this clinical all season who knows where they'd be in the league. The only reason they are/were in any relegation trouble was because of their wastefulness in front of goal #bhafc
