Lamptey suffered a knock during the midweek draw at Fulham but is “recovering well”, according to Albion boss Graham Potter.

"Just the normal in terms of seeing how everyone recovers," said Potter when asked on team news ahead of Sheffield United.

"Tariq had a bit of a knock and was feeling a bit of tightness, but he is recovering well, we will see how he goes, we will give him as close as we can to the game.

"But there are no problems from the match against Fulham, so a fully fit squad, which is a positive."

Inexperienced Spaniard Robert Sanchez is set to continue in goal for the Seagulls after being selected ahead of the out-of-favour Mat Ryan at Craven Cottage.

"He (Sanchez) has to train like I know he will, at 100 per cent, which he does every day," said Potter.

"Maty has been a top servant for this club, he has been a great professional to work with for me, I have the utmost respect for him.

"For the team a different attribute can help and I think Rob has those attributes. His potential is very, very high and it’s our job to help him fulfil that potential. That’s the situation.

"I’d imagine he is looking forward to the game. He has had two away matches and has done well in both of them.

"But as always you have to start again in this league, you have to prepare again and take the challenge on.

"Knowing him he will do that. He will have the support of us that’s for sure. Let’s hope it goes well for him."

Potter expects a serious test from United despite gaining just one point from their first 13 matches this season.

"If you look at their results they’re not being beaten by three or four every week. It’s narrow defeats.

"They lost with the last kick of the game against Leicester, I don’t know how they lost against West Brom with the chances they created.

"A lot of the things I see with Sheffield United are positive, and what I saw last year. I know Chris, and I know his teams, they are always competitive and never give up."

Sheffield United’s Sander Berge and Oli McBurnie are being assessed ahead of the contest.

Midfielder Berge came off early in Thursday’s 3-2 loss to Manchester United with a hamstring problem.

Striker McBurnie, who missed that match due to a shoulder injury, is thought to have the better chance of being involved of the two.
