The Hammers have failed to beat Brighton in the Premier League, losing three and drawing three of their six previous meetings with the Seagulls in the top flight.
Brighton have also performed better on their travels this season, picking up eight of their 12 points away from the Amex.
Graham Potter' s men will however be without their impressive young wing back Tariq Lamptey who is struggling with a hamstring issue.
Potter may also recall Danny Welbeck to the starting XI after his late leveller from the bench against Sheffield United last time out.
