The delayed start to the new season means it could well be a packed fixture schedule for all top flight clubs and Brighton will face more midweek fixtures than previous campaigns in the Premier League.

Brighton secured their fourth consecutive season in the top flight as they finished 15th, seven points above the drop zone.

Albion are making tentative plans to welcome back supporters to the Amex Stadium and hope to compete in the Premier League in front of their fans once again next season - albeit at a reduced capacity.

Brighton chief executive Paul Barber is on a six-club Premier League working party which is supporting the league’s efforts with government to help devise the process for clubs at all levels of the game to begin to bring fans back into stadiums over the coming weeks and months.

The club offered to stage a test event which, subject to Government approval, could take place at the Amex as soon as Saturday, August 29 with the Albion and other clubs potentially working towards returning to higher capacities, and ultimately to full capacities, at the earliest and safest opportunity.

"We are constantly working on the plans, liaising with the government, the DCMS, Premier League and Sports Grounds Safety Authority – so we will endeavour to keep fans informed throughout this process," a club statement read.

On the pitch, Brighton have added to their squad with the signing of Adam Lallana on a free transfer from Liverpool and Dutch international defender Joel Veltman from Ajax this summer.

They also hope to keep their skipper Lewis Dunk, who is reportedly a target for Chelsea, and defender Ben White who is wanted by Leeds.
