Brighton drew 0-0 with follow strugglers Fulham last time out and Potter went with the same XI once more as they take on Tottenham, who are missing the talents of injured striker Harry Kane.

It's the first time Potter has named an unchanged line-up this season and the first time since last March.

Kane injured his ankle in the 3-1 loss against Champions Liverpool last Thursday but Tottenham's attack still looks pretty lethal with Son, Gareth Bale and Steven Bergwijn all starting.

Brighton fans reacted positively to the team line-up on social media and were delighted to see Jose Izquierdo in the match day squad for the first time since April 27, 2019. The Colombian has been sidelined for more than 18 months with a knee injury.

There are also five attacking options from the bench for Potter. A luxury the manager has not always had. Here's how Brighton line-up.

Brighton starting XI: Sanchez; White, Dunk, Webster; Veltman, Bissouma, Gross, Mac Allister, March; Trossard, Maupay. Subs: Walton, Connolly, Lallana, Moder, Alzate, Izquierdo, Tau, Zeqiri, Burn.

Here's how the fans reacted on social media:

@sugaryouth2020: Wait why’s trossard playing?

@wearebrighton: Brighton are UNCHANGED. I repeat, Graham Potter has made NO changes #BHAFC

@AdamdeSilver: Cos Izquierdo is on the bench that obvs means Potter believes in him and has seen something that warrants he could play against Spurs, that’s massive! He must of worked hard coming back from injury to get another chance in the Prem.

@SeagullsUR: Strong team! Ben White dealt with Lookman superbly last time so let's hope he does the same against Son Tau and Izquierdo could do damage off the bench too

@LEEBHAFC: Praise and being positive has to be as loud as the criticism. Really pleased Potter has finally got some consistency in the team. A real big chance tonight against a different spurs team. I hope we play well, and it counts for something. Feeling positive #bhafc
