Albion resumed their season in thrilling fashion as Neal Maupay struck deep injury-time to seal a 2-1 win against Arsenal at the Amex Stadium on Saturday (6pm).

It was a much-needed three points for Potter's men who are now five points clear of the drop and boosted their chances of survival. It was however an energy-sapping contest, which was Brighton's first competitive fixture since their 0-0 draw with at Wolves back in March.

After the match, Potter hinted midfielder Steven Alzate and attacker Alireza Jahanbakhsh could be called upon for another tough match at Champions League-chasing Leicester tomorrow (Tuesday).

The Albion now have eight matches to cram in and the head coach continues to stress how important the entire squad will be during this intense period. Yves Bissouma more than justified his selection ahead of Dale Stephens against the Gunners. Bissouma was clearly struggling at the end with cramp and could well be rested for the Foxes.

Stephens came on for Trossard in the final moments and should also be fresh and available for Leicester.

Aaron Mooy impressed in the first 45 against the Gunners but he was replaced in the second half by Solly March for tactical reasons - which by the way worked extremely well. March also caused Arsenal problems in the second period and produced a telling cross to set up Lewis Dunk's leveller.

Alzate and Jahanbakhsh were left out of the match day squad entirely last Saturday but Potter could well look to the duo to make an impact on Tuesday.

He said: “Steven felt a little bit of soreness last week in the (in-house training) game.

“We just took it a bit careful with him. He will be coming into contention for the game on Tuesday.

“So will Ali. Ali was unlucky. It is just tactical and again he is one who will be available for the next game.”
