Lewis Dunk outlines his priorities after Brighton's vital win at Southampton

The Albion academy graduate opened the scoring for Graham Potter’s side when he rose high to power the ball past Fraser Forster from a corner.

But it looked like business as usual for the Seagulls as Dunk’s opener was cancelled out by Che Adam’s volley in the first half. However, Potter’s tactical tweaks worked perfectly and secured three points thanks to Leandro Trossard’s winner.

"It feels really good (to win)," said Dunk. "That was a proper performance. I think the first half was even but we were disappointed with the goal we conceded which wasn’t good enough from us but it was an all-round good performance which was shown in the second goal, how good we can be.”

Dunk played a starring role in the win, and his header from a corner was his fourth goal of the season - a side to his game that he’s pleased with.

“It always feels nice to score and help the team out. My job is to keep a clean sheet and I’m frustrated we couldn’t do that but we got the win in the end, that’s all that matters,” Dunk said.

Three points on the road are the perfect precursor to next week's match with Newcastle United, but Dunk admitted it’s ‘just another game’ for his side.

“It’s another game. Obviously, they’re around us and we want to win but they want too as well. We’re going to go away now, recover, work hard and make sure we go back to our place and do the job,” he concluded.

At the time of writing, Albion have moved one place above Newcastle to 16th, while pulling themselves three points clear of Fulham.
