Connolly, 20, was recalled to the Albion starting XI today as they take on basement team Sheffield United at the Amex Stadium.

Connolly has been used sparingly this season and has just one goal from his nine appearances.

The striker has been given another opportunity to shine as Graham Potter rotates his squad with Danny Welbeck dropping to the bench.

Connolly provides a goal threat but his clever movement and work rate also makes him a genuine handful for Premier League defenders.

Keane is a fan of his fellow Irishman but feels Connolly needs to be more ruthless when the chances come his way.

"I think he is a decent young player with very good movement," said Keane. "You worry about his stats. I have seen him in a number of games where he movement is that good that he gets a lot of chances but he has not really been clinical yet.

"He needs to add that to his game. He plays through middle or he can come in from wide positions but he has to be more clinical.

"The number of games I have seen where he has actually missed the target. I do think he has a bright future but he does need that clinical side."
