The players showed how desperate they are to stay in the division - Hughton
The Seagulls produced a fine backs-against-the-wall display to shut out a Wanderers side that had 68 per cent possession, and had 22 attempts on goal to Albion's five.
But Brighton held on to claim a hard-fought point to see the cushion over 18th-place Cardiff City, and the relegation places, increase to three points.

"I am relieved because at the moment we need points and it's very difficult to get three points here (at Wolves).
"Our aim was to do that, but we knew that if we came away with a point we would have done so well."
Despite claiming a valuable point, Albion have now gone without a goal in 570 minutes of football.

Hughton recognised that Brighton hadn't been good enough in front of goal but felt their cause had been hampered by injury.
He added: "We've found it very difficult to get goals of late. This season we haven't been big goalscorers.
"Reasons for that are (Jose) Izquierdo, who scored five goals for us, has missed the majority of the season. So has Pascal Gross.

"The next game, and the next game after that, gives us the opportunity to change that."

Albion's next league encounter sees them travel to Champions League semi-finalists Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday evening (7:45 pm kick-off), and the Seagulls' fixtures don't get any easier after that.

Hide AdBrighton's make the trip to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal in their penultimate game of the season on Sunday, May 5 before they conclude their campaign at home to title-chasing Manchester City on Sunday, May 12.
Hughton believes recent performances against the 'big six' shows that these forthcoming games aren't foregone conclusions, and, with a bit of luck, the Seagulls can take points off their illustrious opponents.
The Albion boss said: "What we have been able to do against the big sides is stay in the game.
"We haven't had a big defeat against the big teams. Our worst defeat was the Bournemouth game (a 5-0 home loss last Saturday).

"Sometimes that can be a scrappy goal, it can be a penalty, it can be from a set-play, and it can spark something."
Brighton will also be sweating on the fitness of midfielder Davy Propper and club captain Bruno, as both limped off against Wolves.
Hughton added: "He's a good player Davy, but he did feel his hamstring and we probably won't know (the extent of the injury) until the morning.

"I'm hoping that Bruno is OK. He looks OK but, again, we won't know until tomorrow morning."
