Brighton & Hove Albion reveal Adur training ground plans

The club has named New Monks Farm, Lancing, as the preferred site for its new facility.

The proposal was discussed at an Adur District Council committee meeting yesterday (Monday, June 27) and the plans were welcomed by the council members.

The site, to the west of Shoreham Airport and adjacent to the golf course currently under construction, is owned by the district council and allocated for the provision of new playing fields.

Albion’s plans include training facilities for the club’s senior professionals and a new youth development academy.

The proposals include a training complex buildings, including an indoor pitch and facilities for players and staff, eight pitches, a 3G astroturf pitch, training grids and some residential accommodation.

Albion chief executive Martin Perry said: “We have been searching for a site to house a state-of-the-art training facility and youth academy and the site at New Monks Farm is ideal.”

District council leader Neil Parkin said: “We were both surprised and delighted when Brighton & Hove Albion approached us to see if they could use our site.

“This would really help to put Adur on the map and give us a great opportunity to regenerate this area for the benefit of the whole district.”
