The combination of failing to replace Leo Ulloa and new boss Sami Hyypia’s poor record as boss lead to their demise.

The Seagulls were as short as even money for the drop prior to Chris Hughton taking the hot-seat on New Year’s Eve.

Blackpool’s torrential start to the year meant there were effectively just two relegation places for the other 23 Championship teams to avoid last term, while Millwall and Wigan were sent down well clear of the chasing pack, the league this year looks far more competitive.

Huddersfield have lost Connor Coady to Wolves and with a fairly unspectacular set of signings warrant backing at 3/1 to be plying their trade in English football’s third tier next term.

Derby and Middlesbrough disappointed towards the tail-end of last season but head the market as the 5/1 and 6/1 favourites respectively for the title; with Aitor Karanka’s side the more appealing of the two bidding for redemption after the play-off heartbreak suffered at Wembley in May.

Steve McClaren has been replaced by former Real Madrid assistant Paul Clement in the iPro hot-seat and the Rams look poised for another bold bid.
