It wasn’t pretty, but if you want a definition of a professional win this was it....Here Jack Butler rates the Crawley Town players.
5. George Francomb - 8.5
Playing out of position at left-back, Francomb won pretty much everything against a bright Salford attacking unit. Most of the oppositions’ attacks came through Brandon Asante, but the skilful attacker couldn’t get past the Red skipper.
6. Jordan Maguire-Drew - 7.5
Why Orient let this guy go on loan I have no clue. He is absolute class. Lovely bit of play through as he jinked one way then the other to leave the Salford left back on the turf. Picked out Nadesan well for the a header that was disallowed.
7. Jack Powell - 8.5
Solid against a very strong Salford midfield, did well to cope when Crawley were outnumbered. Lovely balls forward to start Crawley’s counters in the second half and didn’t stop running. Not once.
8. Jake Hessenthaler - 8
Worked hard in centre again, and was key as Crawley were able to preserve their lead. Soaked up so much pressure as Salford dominated the ball. Really good night for Hessenthaler as he provided a much-needed shield for the Crawley defence.
