Ferring netted three times in a game for the first time this season as they suffered a 5-3 defeat at Rottingdean Village in Southern Combination League Division 2 on Saturday.

The goals conceded tally now reads 107 from just nine league games this campaign and they are yet to register a point in Division 2.

Despite the disastrous start, manager Allen believes performances that match the effort at Rottingdean Village could see a win soon.

He said: “I was really pleased with how we performed. We had a mix of young and old in the team, which seemed to work well.

“Preston Kadriu impressed on his senior debut as he scored twice and put in a great display.

“I’m sure if we keep playing to the level we did, a win could be around the corner.”

Kadriu made his senior bow in fine style and fired Ferring in front after two minutes.

Rottingdean quickly turned it around and strikes from Jack Doe and Chris Brencher in the next 18 minutes put them ahead. Back came Ferring and Kadriu struck again to make it 2-2 after half-an-hour.

A frantic first 35 minutes was then complete as Doe bagged a second to give Rottingdean a 3-2 first half lead.

Doe completed his hat-trick to give the hosts a two-goal cushion ten minutes after the break, before Adam Lelliott pulled one back on 80 minutes.

With Ferring pushing forward for an equaliser, Doe was on hand to net his fourth six minutes from time to wrap things up for Rottingdean.
