Manager Adam Hinshelwood and his backroom team have set up a series of Zoom sessions in which the players will be to analyse what they’re doing right in matches – and what they’re not.

The squad have all been given fitness programmes to follow and Hinshelwood is confident they will do so and come back in good shape – as they did in the long period in late spring and early summer when they couldn’t train together.

Hinshelwood is also enlisting the services of top-level coaching contacts he has to add variety to the Zoom sessions.

Like all non-league clubs now banned from playing or training as a group, Worthing hope they can return to action as soon as the current Covid restrictions end on December 2.

Hinshelwood said: “It’s a strange time again. We didn’t expect things to stop after eight league games.

“Cam Morrison who is on our staff is very good at putting sessions together where we can analyse how we’ve done.

“The Zoom sessions mean everyone can get together, albeit remotely, and we can share our thoughts.

“Our squad is a good group and the majority will do extra training on top of the normal amount. We all want to progress and keep on improving. As soon as we are allowed to get back together, I know the players will be pushing to get going again.”

Worthing are top of the Isthmian premier, the same spot they finished in when last season was scrapped.
