Impressive Invicta send Rebels to defeat
Worthing Football Club conceded two second half goals as they slipped to a 2-1 home defeat at the hands Ryman League South leaders Folkestone Invicta this afternoon.
Ian Draycott and substitute Jordan Wright got the goals to send Rebels to a first league loss in three matches.
Zack Newton’s late strike gave Worthing some hope but in the end Folkestone held on for all three points.
Draycott got the opener on the hour mark as his deflected 20-yard free-kick beat Banks to give Invicta the lead.
Substitute Wright got on the end of Ronnie Docan’s through ball before firing home with five minutes left.
Newton’s strike on 90 minutes gave Rebels some faint hope of snatching an unlikely point but they couldn’t find a second as it ended 2-1.
