They saw off Oakwood in a thrilling FA Vase second qualifying round clash on Saturday.

Ross Adams bagged four, Lewis Finney and Liam Hendy netted braces, while Alex Fair scored in a 9-4 success.

It proved to be a much tighter tie on Tuesday but second half strikes from Fair and Jared Rance ensured Lancers progressed.

Very few chances were created in the opening 45 and it was goalless at the break.

Fair struck just six minutes into the second to give his side the lead.

United piled men forward in the closing stages but failed to find a leveller.

Any hopes of a comeback were then dashed as Rance netted a second for his side two minutes from time.

Lancing will now go into the hat for the competition’s second round draw.
