Lancing suffer late heartbreak in the FA Vase

LANCING Football Club suffered late heartbreak this afternoon (Saturday 29) as they exited the FA Vase to injury-time goal at Holbrook Sports.

The Derbyshire hosts won through to the last 16 with a 2-1 victory, after Lancers had fought back from a goal down at half-time only to suffer a 93rd-minute defeat in what has been a historic run for the County League Division 2 side.

Lancers were behind at the break after Dave Sharman netted an own goal on 43 minutes, and although Richard Hudson’s 63rd-minute free-kick had levelled the tie, it was Holbrook who secured their place in the fifth round, where they will face Midland Alliance League side Coalville Town
