The two clubs have struck up a deal that will see both United's first team and new under-23 side play at EP's ground.

United confirmed they were ending their long-standing groundsharing agreement with Littlehampton Town on April 15.

United spent five years as tenants at The Sportsfield.

The club lost their previous home at Clymping playing fields midway through the 2015-16 campaign when they played under the name Clymping FC.

A short agreement was struck up between the two clubs to ensure Clymping’s survival, and that subsequently turned into a five-year partnership between United and the Marigolds.

A statement from Littlehampton United chairman David Chace on the club's website said: "We would like to place our thanks on record to everybody at Littlehampton Town for accommodating us in the past and the support they showed us when we needed it the most.

"This will never be forgotten and we will continue to maintain the good relationship between the two clubs.

"Now we look forward to games at the Lashmar and working with East Preston FC in what we all believe will be a fantastic working partnership, as we aim to push on with our new objectives.

"We hope you'll join us for a game in the ground with a bacon sandwich and coffee from the stall, and a pint or two in the newly refurbished Sports & Social Club afterwards.

"The two clubs will be announcing a friendly in the future to officially cut the ribbon on the new partnership and we hope to see you all there!"

East Preston tweeted: "We look forward to welcoming everyone associated with Littlehampton United to Lashmar Road.

"A warm welcome also awaits their fans and all visitors for a pint or two in our newly refurbished social club."
