WORTHING United Football Club will look to complete the double on Monday afternoon.
The County League Division 2 champions will look to add the Division 2 Cup to their trophy cabinet when they meet Wick & Barnham in the final at Shoreham (4pm).
Mavericks boss Nigel Geary is looking forward to the game and said: “The club had a couple of dark years but this is definitely a County League Division 1 club.
“We’ve had an excellent season but want to complete the double now.
“We’re the best team in the division, so will start as favourites and that brings a bit of pressure as well.
“We’ve won ten in a row, so are in good form and are raring to go.
“It’s going to be a good game. Wick know what we are about and we know how they’re going to try to stop us playing.
“The first goal is going to be massive. Every time we’ve scored the first goal this season, we’ve gone on to win as the opposition has to come out and attack us a bit more.
“That leaves us space to get in behind and we have such speed and skill up front.”
Geary added that his side will just treat the final as a normal game. He said: “I haven’t got the best of records in finals, so we’ll just treat it as a normal game.
“There will be no suits or anything, we’ll be turning up in tracksuits to make it feel like a normal league game.
“Everyone is looking forward to it, though. We’ve been training twice a week and will train a couple of days before the final as well.”
United have reached the final with wins over Steyning Town (3-2), Saltdean (1-0) and Mile Oak (2-1).
Wick have defeated Westfield (4-2), Oakwood (3-2) and AFC Uckfield (5-4 on penalties after a 2-2 draw) to reach the final.
