STRIKER Trevor McCreadie has left Worthing Football Club and signed for Ryman League Premier Division side Peacehaven & Telscombe.
McCreadie, who signed for Rebels in the summer, after playing for Peacehaven, Crawley Down Gatwick and Hastings United last season, netted 12 times in 32 appearances for the club.
Worthing first-team coach Jon Meeney feels the front man will be a big loss and said: “It’s a shame that Trevor has had to move on from the club.
“Peacehaven put in a seven-day approach for him and, with the current financial situation here, he moved on.
“I wish him all the best in the future and this is now another step in his footballing journey. With Trevor and Terry Dodd moving on from the club, what that does provide is a chance for some of the younger players at the club to come in and try to stake a claim for a starting place.
“Ben Pope has come in upfront in the past few games and done a really good job.
“We have a really good bunch of youngsters at the club at the current time and, if myself and Adam (Hinshelwood, manager) can bring a few of those into the first-team fold, that would be great to give them an opportunity.
“I would just like to thank Trevor for all that he gave the club in his short time here and I’m sure he will score goals in the division above at Peacehaven.”
