Medlock gone but Rebels sign up duo

Rebels joint manager Lee Brace knew Medlock – who signed at Woodside Road midway through last season – was unlikely to return and has brought in another two new signings as attacking options.

Lloyd Skinner and Fred Foreman are the latest to sign for Worthing and join fellow forward Jamie Crellin, who was one of Rebels’ first summer coups.

Brace said: “We got them both signed on at the same time, which is great.

“Obviously, it gives us another option going forward. Lloyd is a former Albion scholar and has spent the past couple of years at Mile Oak playing with his mates.

“He wants to get back into it and he’ll do well as he used to be at this level.

“They’ll be excellent squad players for us.”

Medlock netted 12 times after joining Rebels in January from Horsham and was an instant hit at Worthing.

Brace admitted in the summer it was unlikely he would return as a couple of other clubs were after his signature when he left Horsham.

Brace said: “Billy signed for Eastbourne Town this week. We spoke at the end of last season about things, it was nice to have him come in mid-way through the season and he was a good help in us trying to finish in the play-off places.

“It was nice to have him on board and we wish him the best, he loves his football and is a cracking lad.”

New-striker Crellin opened his account on Saturday as Rebels enjoyed a good work-out against Horndean in a 1-1 draw which impressed the Worthing management.

Rebels also have a versatile 6ft 4in defender from Switzerland on trial who has previously played at BSC Young Boys. He was set to feature in Worthing’s 2-1 win at Worthing United on Tuesday night and Wednesday night’s game at Ringmer.
