Moyse hits out at Bexhill snub

Moyse was this week replaced by Paul Tuppenney and wasn’t even interviewed for the position despite leading the club to its highest position since 1993-94 last season.

He said: “To be quite honest with you, the way the club’s dealt with it has been bang out of order. I’ve not been contacted by anybody from the club and I’ve not been able to put my case forward.”

Moyse led The Polegrove-based outfit to promotion from Division Three of the Sussex County Football League after taking over from Glyn White two-thirds of the way through the 2009-10 campaign.

Along with assistant Mark Stapley, he then guided Bexhill to fourth place in Division Two last term - the best the club has achieved since it was last in Division One (as Bexhill Town) 17 years ago.

“They never even told me they were interviewing, I’ve just heard,” continued Moyse, who has been away with a family matter. “I just can’t believe the way they’ve gone about it.”

A prolific striker during his playing days and “a Bexhill man all my life”, Moyse also claims that he had work carried out for the club without charging a penny.

He went on: “I can’t believe how much I’ve given to them and how disloyal they are. They’ve not even got the decency to tell me I’m not doing it next year and I’ve not even had a text off anyone to say ‘our thoughts are with you’ or anything like that (relating to the aforementioned family matter).”
