STORRINGTON Football Club progressed into the quarter-finals of the County League Division 2 Cup last night (Tuesday) with a 1-0 win over Loxwood.
Tom Pickford netted the only goal on 60 minutes, with a diving header from Luke Jearum’s free kick, and Swans will now host Littlehampton in the last eight.
Loxwood pressed for an equaliser in the last 30 minutes but Swans had the better clear-cut chances, with Kristian Harding chipping over from close range.
Swans joint manager James Baker said: “The game finished 1-0 but if we had won 3-or-4-0, this probably would have reflected our possession and quality of play. Mark Dixon and Tom Pickford stood out for us but all of our lads were top-drawer,
“Young Josh Miles made his first start for the first team and is a real prospect for the club.”
