Worthing Football Club drew 2-2 at home to Conference South side Eastbourne Borough in their latest pre-season friendly this afternoon.
Ben Pope gave Rebels the lead on 66 minutes but two goals in a four-minute spell moved Borough 2-1 ahead with seven minutes left.
Brannon O’Neill equalised with a deflected free kick on 85 minutes.
Worthing joint boss Gary Elphick said: “It’s another game on the 3G pitch to get used to it and it was an improvement from the Northampton game against a very good Conference South squad.
“It’s important to remember that it’s pre-season and I want to keep our feet on the ground because we haven’t achieved anything yet. We can do things better defensively and offensively but, as a start to pre-season goes, I’m absolutely delighted.
“The players are liking the pitch and enjoying it and they can play football on it, which is the best thing. It’s going to be a massive asset to us.”
