Rebels held to goalless draw by Walton & Hersham

WORTHING Football Club were held to a 0-0 draw at home this afternoon (Saturday) by Walton & Hersham.

Rebels were looking for three points to keep pace with the Ryman League Division 1 South play-off places, but failed to find a break through in a dire game at Woodside Road.

Paul Kennett went closest for Rebels in the first half as he produced a fine one-handed save from Rodney Chiweshe from close range as he got on the end of Tom Lawley’s cross.

In the second half, Shaun Charles, who replaced the injured Tom Manton early on, also called on Chiweshe, who got a hand to his fine curling shot.

The vistors put a few late chances together, but in truth, Alan Mansfield had little to do all afternoon.
