WORTHING Football Club eased into the semi-finals of the Brighton Charity Cup on Tuesday night with a comfortable 3-0 win at County League Division 1 side Pagham.
Rebels had the result wrapped up by half-time thanks to a brace from Mike Huckett from a header on 10 minutes and penalty on 18 minutes, while Tom Lawley finished before the break to put them well in control, as Pagham were reduced to 10 men late in the second half.
Worthing manager Chris White was delighted with his side’s performance and admitted it was a comfortable evening for his side.
He said: “Surprisingly so, to be honest, they have some good players, are a good side and were my favourites for the title at the start of the season. I said before the game the work rate needed to be higher and it was. A 3-0 win and a clean sheet against a team with a good strike force is good, but most pleasingly we played some good stuff and you could see the confidence coming back.”
n Rebels travel to Burgess Hill in the league on Saturday., and Whyteleafe on Tuesday.
