WORTHING Football Club have re-signed popular left-sided player Chris O’Flaherty ahead of the upcoming Ryman League South Division season.
O’Flaherty, who played at left-back and on the left wing for Worthing last season when he netted 12 goals, put pen to paper on Tuesday evening, along with Jamie Strong, who can play in defence or midfield, and was briefly with Rebels last season.
Rebels joint manager Lee Brace said: “It’s fantastic news to get Chris back.
“Chris wasn’t sure if he wanted to take a season out or not at the end of last season, so we’re delighted he’s back and he’ll go straight into the squad for Saturday’s match at Corinthian Casuals.”
On bringing Strong back to the club as well, Brace said: “Jamie needs to fall back in love with football again and I’ve told him that.
“He just needs to settle donw and stay with us for a little while and get back to where he used to be.
“He’s a quality footballer, there’s no doubt about that. But he’s got to come to a big club like ourselves and earn the right to play and be in the squad on merit as he’s got all the ability in the world.”
