WORTHING Football Club are set to host a Brighton & Hove Albion XI as part of their pre-season preparations.
Adam Hinshelwood’s Rebels side will host a Albion team on Saturday, August 2, with a 3pm kick-off at Woodside Road.
Brighton have a friendly with Premier League Southampton at home on July 31 but do not currently have a fixture on August 2, as their league season begins on August 9.
Former Liverpool and Finland international defender Sami Hyypia was named Albion’s new manager last week.
Worthing’s communications director Ian Hart said: “It’s very kind of Albion to put us back in their pre-season schedule.
“It also gives an opportunity for the Worthing footballing public to see Sami Hyypia and co close up.”
Rebels’ youth side will again take on the respective under-16 teams from Crystal Palace, Portsmouth and Brighton in their pre-season programme.
Dates and times are to be confirmed.
Worthing will also run an under-21 team next season, which will be managed by Bob Paine.
