SCFL announce their cup draws

THE Sussex County Football League have announced their first and second round cup draws for the 2014-15 campaign.

All the draws were made yesterday ahead of the new season for the newly-named Peter Bentley Cup, Division 2 Cup, Division 3 Cup and the Reserve Section Cup.

Holders East Preston begin their defence of the Peter Bentley Cup, previously the John O’Hara Cup, at home to Worthing United in the second round.

There are also three first-round matches, as Mile Oak await the winners of AFC Uckfield Town versus Saltdean United, in the second round. Westfield visit the winners of Little Common against Bexhill United and league new boys Crawley Down Gatwick will host either Oakwood or Steyning Town.

Other second-round matches: Horsham YMCA v Littlehampton Town; Shoreham v Hassocks; Eastbourne United v Ringmer; Storrington v Chichester City; Selsey v Lancing; Dorking Wanderers v Pagham; Newhaven v Haywards Heath Town; Hailsham Town v St Francis Rangers; Wick & Barnham United v Midhurst & Easebourne; Arundel v Rustington.

Last season’s Division 2 Cup winners, Loxwood, will not get the chance to retain their trophy after being promoted into Division 1, but losing finalists, Bexhill United, start their cup campaign away to Saltdean United.

Seaford Town face no first-round match after receiving a bye into the second stage of the competition.

Other first-round matches: Oakwood v Little Common; Wick & Barnham United v Westfield; AFC Uckfield Town v Haywards Heath Town; Rustington v Storrington; Saltdean United v Bexhill United; Steyning Town v Worthing United; Midhurst & Easebourne v Mile Oak.

Holders Roffey have received a bye into the second round of the Division 3 Cup where they will host Rottingdean Village.

Southwick, Langley Wanderers and Burgess Hill & Hurst Albion have both been spared first-round ties.

In the first round, Sidlesham host Clymping, Ferring welcome Ifield and Billingshurst visit Bosham.

In the Reserve Section Cup, Haywards Heath Town, Langney Wanderers, Eastbourne United, Ringmer and holders Saltdean United have all received byes into the second round, while there are also a number of both first-and-second-round clashes scheduled.

First-round matches: Little Common v Clymping; Littlehampton Town v Ferring; Lingfield v Lancing; Billingshurst v Burgess Hill & Hurst Albion; Hailsham Town v Chichester City; Westfield v Storrington; Seaford Town v Bexhill United.
