Several football matches postponed already

A NUMBER of football matches scheduled to take place tomorrow have already been postponed owing to waterlogged pitches.

Worthing’s Ryman League South Division match at Herne Bay has been called off and the games at Crawley Down Gatwick and Walton Casuals in the same division have also been postponed. A number of pitch inspections are planned for the morning.

In the Sussex County League, the following games have already been postponed - Division 1: East Grinstead v Hassocks; Hailsham v Dorking Wanderers; Lingfield v St Francis; Littlehampton v Pagham; Ringmer v Horsham YMCA; Rye v Newhaven; Shoreham v Crowborough; Worthing United v Arundel.

Division 2: AFC Uckfield v Loxwood; Oakwood v Steyning Town; Rustington v Midhurst; Westfield v Mile Oak; Wick & Barnham v Haywards Heath.

Division 3: Ifield v Langney Wanderers; Uckfield Town v Sidlesham.

Anyone looking to watch some sports action tomorrow can head along to Roundstone Lane where Worthing Raiders Rugby Club take on National 1 leaders Doncaster Knights, with a 2pm start.

In the evening, Worthing Thunder Basketball Club entertain EBL Division 1 leaders Hemel Storm, with a 7.30pm start at Worthing Leisure Centre.
