The 28-year-old striker completed his switch to Woodside Road on Friday, before netting on his debut in a 2-2 draw at Harrow Borough less than 24 hours later.

Summers, who has turned out for fellow Ryman League Premier Division outfit Metropolitan Police this season, was without a club after leaving Corinthian Casuals last month.

After netting twice for Carshalton Athletic against Worthing last season, Elphick admitted he has been keeping tabs on Summers ever since.

He said: “You know what you are going to get from Dan, he’s a big, powerful forward.

“If you get the ball into him he’s able to hold it up and cause defenders all sorts of problems.

“With Ben Pope still out and Omar Bugiel leaving, we’ve been left a little light upfront but Dan’s arrival will give us a major boost.

“He’s a big threat and only operating at about 80 per cent at the minute, so there’s plenty more to come from him.”
