VIDEO: Should Rebels have been awarded a late penalty on Saturday?

WORTHING Football Club were denied a late penalty on Saturday when the referee awarded a free kick just outside the area.

But should it have been a spot-kick? Rebels striker Omar Bugiel was brought down by Walton & Hersham keeper Gary Ross with 15 minutes to play and the score 1-1, which was how the Ryman League South Division match finished.

Worthing’s Brannon O’Neill had a earlier penalty saved by Ross, before Ben Pope gave Rebels a 26th-minute lead. Walton levelled with a penalty of their own through James Cottee five minutes before half-time.
