The Crabtree Park pitch has become a popular haunt for foxes and Uni manager Dennis Barclay was summoned by the referee to clear up the mess before play resumed in the match against Village Rebels.

"It was a lacklustre first-half apart from Dennis clearing up the mess left by the foxes. ‘That’s not something you see every day at football," said goalscorer Callum Spencer-Ward.

‘But we stepped it up after the break and we’re the better side. ‘It was a good team performance and we are looking forward to another successful season.’

The visitors took the lead with a goal which looked offside but Brad Dixon put Unicorn level before the break..

Sam Garnett then fired high and wide from the spot but Unicorn sealed the West Sussex Sunday League points from with three goals in nine second-half minutes.

Impressive Spencer-Ward netted twice and Sam Clarke either side of substitute Matt Hill having a penalty saved with his first touch of the ball.
