Worthing Thunder’s basketball players will be at Woodside Road to support Worthing FC at 3pm, before members of the football squad will head to Worthing Leisure Centre to watch Thunder take on Loughborough Students in the evening (7.30pm).

Worthing FC chairman Pete Stone said: “We sit in a very healthy position in our league as do Thunder.

“It shows the potential in this town to support two successful teams each with very healthy crowds too.

“It makes perfect sense to me to join up with each other and provide a bit of mutual support and promotion.

“I think we have a few players who fancy themselves as basketball players and I know from the officials at Thunder that they have a couple of budding footballers too.”

Thunder players will choose the Worthing man of the match and the Worthing players will later select the Thunder MVP.
