Worthing bounce back at Chipstead

WORTHING Football Club bounced back from FA Cup disappoitment with a win at Chipstead on Tuesday.

Rebels travelled to Surrey for a Ryman League South clash just three days after exiting the FA Cup to AFC Hornchurch at the third round qualifying stage.

But Worthing responded in the best possible way with a league win.

Rebels had Callum Overton and Harvey Sparks to thank for netting in the success.

Overton gave the visitors the perfect start as he scored with 14 minutes gone.

It was 2-0 a minute before the interval thanks to fine strike from Sparks.

Chipstead pulled a goal back through Greg Andrews on 52 minutes following his penalty, but Rebels held on for a vital win.

The victory sees Worthing rocket up to eighth place in the Ryman South table. Worthing will be hoping to make it back-to-back league wins when they host South Park at Woodside Road on Saturday.
