The 22-year-old was unveiled as Rebels’ majority shareholder last week and Hinshelwood feels his introduction will only benefit the club.

“He will be a breath of fresh air and it’s great that we can have some positive news.

“Myself and George will be meeting on Thursday (today) to discuss what his plans are for the club.

“I will also put some of my own views across and then we will see what we both come up with.

“It’s really encouraging that George has come in and everyone is looking forward to what we could potentially achieve in the coming years.”

Dowell, who was a promising footballer in his teens, was left paralysed after a car crash in April, 2010.

He was in hospital for ten months but has now got his confidence back and is looking forward to running Rebels as football is his passion.

Hinshelwood feels it is an inspirational story but has also thanked his squad and management team for the part that they played in the takeover.

He added: “In November, it was looking really bleak and the club was in some real trouble. At that point, the players and myself decided we needed to act, so we got together with the club and worked out a plan.

“We held a meeting to make people aware of the situation that the club was in.

“Fortunately, George had heard about what was going on and he wanted to help us out here.

“It’s a difficult time at the moment with the season drawing to a close, so we remain fully focused on this year but once George and I have met I’m sure we will have plans for next season.

“Everyone is delighted that he has come into the football club. It’s a case of everyone being positive going forward now.”
