Lawrence left her role on Friday following a two-year spell in charge at the club.

Women’s captain Hewlett paid tribute to Lawrence for changing the culture of the club and for the impact she had on and off the field.

Hewlett said: “It’s incredible what Michelle has done for the women’s team in the two seasons she’s been here.

“You can’t compare where we were summer 2019 to now – we are a completely different prospect.

“Michelle has gone above and beyond for every single player and for the team as a whole.

“Ultimately Covid curtailments have cost us promotions and silverware but I hope the foundations she’s laid will continue to be built upon.

“Michelle, her attention to detail, her dedication and her passion for the game will be missed by all of the girls both on and off the pitch.”
