Reece Hallard and Jack Newhouse have both made their first-team debuts for Worthing this season, with Hallard coming off the bench to score in the 2-0 win against Arundel in the Sussex Senior Cup earlier this month.

They were watched by various scouts on the club's under-18 FA Youth Cup run this season, when they reached the first round before losing 6-0 at Millwall.

Worthing joint manager Jon Meeney believes the trial can only be positive for the duo and said: "Full credit to them. They've got their opportunities on the back of what they've been doing for the youth team, for Sussex and their colleges, so well done to them.

"They've just to go there, in unfamiliar circumstances, and just try to be themselves and do what they've been doing to get that far.

"What will come of it, either way, they can use it as good stead to move forward."
