Morrison, who is heading into his third and final year at the University of Chichester, will take charge of Portsmouth ladies’ development team next season.

As well as his role in the women’s game, the aspiring Worthing coach has been appointed the University of Chichester men’s first-team manager.

For many, juggling those two positions would be too tough a task but Morrison has every confidence he’ll be able to take both in his stride.

He said: “I’m currently studying a football coaching and performance degree at Chichester University.

“As part of module three I had to go out and get some coaching experience, which I went to Portsmouth ladies’ for.

“In my time with them, I worked with both the first and development teams and had a really good year.

“A position came up with the development team and luckily I’ve been appointed manager.

“On top of that, I’m also going to take charge of the university’s first team, so it’s a great chance for me.”

Portsmouth ladies ply their trade in the FA Women’s Premier League Southern Division, while University of Chichester’s first-team compete in the top university league in England.

Despite both playing at such high standards, Morrison is confident he can succeed and admits switching between both men and women roles will pose no problem.

He added: “So many people have asked me how I’m going to go from working with men and then to women but it’s easy for me.

“From the work I’ve done previously, I see no difference between either and will just work the same with both teams.”

With current Portsmouth ladies’ first-team manager Craig Taylor away for the opening weeks of the season, Morrison has been tasked with taking their first couple of league fixtures in the third tier.

The former Worthing College student will work with the first-team over the summer.

He sees it as a great opportunity but knows it will be a tricky job and said: “With Craig (Taylor) away on holiday it will be myself taking the first-team for a few games.

“They play in the third-tier of ladies’ football so it’s going to be a fantastic experience for myself.

“I know it’s not going to be easy as several of the players at Portsmouth have played in the top two leagues but I’m going to try and get respect from top, top players.”

Morrison admits he is still unsure what route he wants to take but his ultimate ambition is to coach in the Football League.

“The ultimate aim for me is to one day become a manager in the Football League.”
