Glynde lift trophy in easy win

GLYNDE & Beddingham Cricket Club ran out easy winners of the Inter Sport of Lewes Trophy at Fletching on Saturday when they defeated Crowhurst Park by 130 runs.

Glynde batted first and made 243-4 in their 40 overs, taking 180 from the last 20 overs as Joe Adams top-scored with 94 while Dominic Shepheard made 66 and Rob Mouland 45 not out.

Crowhurst Park were dismissed for just 113, Adams taking 2-13 and Dominic Harris 2-15.

Glynde, who finished runners-up in the East Sussex League this season, now look forward to the November vote on their application to join the Sussex League.

East Sussex champions Seaford won the Inter Sport of Lewes Plate in beating Heathfield Park by 137 runs at Herstmonceux.

Seaford tallied 273-4, with Nicolaas Scholtz making 113, Anthony Jennings 46 not out, Colin Wells 44 and Pete Copplestone 40. Park never took up the run chase and finished on 136-8.
