GOAL AND ASSIST EACH FOR JAN AND DANNY

WICK'S pursuit of Division 1 football shows no signs of slowing up after two late goals put them within three points of leaders Crowborough who lost at Lancing.

Wick also have two games in hand on the table-toppers and have to play them twice.

Andy Gander felt his side dominated much of the game at Westfield, but it took until the 77th minute for the deadlock to be broken. Dave Sharman and Danny Curd combined for Jan Miller to pounce from close range.

Curd doubled the lead on 85 minutes. Tom Manton fed Miller whose cross found Curd and he swivelled past his marker to fire home his 19th goal of the season.

In the first half, Miller had a shot saved and in the second period substitute James Bennett was unlucky with a header from Pete Christodoulou's cross.

The win was even more impressive for Wick as they were without key midfielders Adam Hunt, Marc Cooper, and Chris Morrow.

Hunt injured his knee playing for Chichester College last Thursday, but should be back this week for Wick's trip to Midhurst.

Morrow should also return from a back injury, and Ben Cullen and Richard Wheatley are available again.

Gander included youth-team players James Evans and Kurtis Lee in the squad, although neither got on.

Wick then host St Francis next Tuesday.
