GOLDS BURN THE BRIDGES

THE PRE-MATCH chat with Littlehampton manager Andy Taylor could have been used as a demonstration tape for the Samaritans when it became clear that he was more than miffed at not being able to field his first-choice side in the fight against relegation.

Against high-flying Three Bridges at the Sportsfield on Saturday, his plans for the important clash were decimated, when no fewer than 10 players were unavailable for various reasons.

The Reserve team fixture at Sidley was called off on the preceding evening in order for Taylor to scratch together the full squad of 14.
