Service veterans benefit from Worthing golf extravaganza

Worthing Golf Club hosted their 2020 charity am-am in aid of the captain’s charity, ‘Care for Veterans’ based in the town.

A total of 128 competitors played on a staggered basis over 36 holes on both courses, and some ended up as drowned rats, all in aid of our local veterans.

On the day, there were a number competitive games, some with spot prizes such as nearest the pin, as well as an auction, with some fantastic lots.

Care For Veterans are delighted to report that £4,936.83 was raised, while Barclays Bank, care of Aidan Smith, provided a further £1,000 in ‘match funding’ bringing the final total to £5,936.83.

Christine Gillott of Care For Veteran said: “ We are very proud to be the club captain’s chosen charity. It was a spectacular event and the club did an incredible job keeping everyone safe.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to all of those in attendance on the day.”
