Levett arrows ahead at darts masters event

AN UP-and-coming darts player from Lancing recently came away from the England Masters Darts competition with sponsorship from three of the world’s best players.

TMG Social Club sponsored 14-year-old Connor Levett threw the best darts of his life in the weekend held in Coventry.

Knuckles, as Levett is known on the darts circuit, won his opening game in the adult competition 4-1 with an average of 29.27 per dart, including a leg where he threw 180, 140, 60, 89 and outshot, and also narrowly missed out on a nine-darter.

BDO player Darryl Fitton noticed Levett’s quality darts, approached him and discussed a sponsorship deal by taking him under the wing of the Men in Black, along with fellow professionals Tony O’Shea and Gary Robson.

Levett said: “I’ve been trying to get noticed by a top name but didn’t imagine I could get three names to back me.

“I’ve known Darryl for a few years and for him to say how well I’ve improved and to put his name forward to back me is really great, but to get Tony and Gary as well is just a dream.”
