A LOCAL pool player was right on cue as she finally pocketed world champion status at the start of the month.
Littlehampton’s Jo Kent has been a champion pool player in the region for a number of years, but nothing can top her recent success at the World 8-Ball Pool Championships.
The 42-year-old and her Northern Ireland team-mates took the world by storm and beat favourites England in the final of the championships – although there was not a penalty in sight.
Kent said: “I am so pleased for all of the team. We have spent a long time as the runners-up and many thought it was never to be, but we fought hard, played as a team and are finally champions of the world.”
