THE final match of the West Sussex Billiards League season at the Clayton and Keymer Royal British Legion saw Mid Sussex and Worthing face off in a battle for the title.

The visitors’ Mick Lott was on top of his game when he developed a fluent 63 break and progressed to beat the Middies’ champion Barry Martin 200-134.

Peter Moreley extended his team’s lead by beating Peter Green 200-119 and his colleague Bob Jay ousted Ken Warren 200-163. Middies’ skipper Ian Janman gained a consolation win as he defeated Michael Jackson 200-103.

Worthing’s 3-1 victory saw them finish top of the table and clinch the title with nine points, one ahead of Horsham on eight and two ahead of Mid Sussex on seven.
