New date for Bexhill Challenge

THE Bexhill Challenge match involving Sidley United and Bexhill United has been moved from its original date of Wednesday March 30.

Sidley chairman Dickie Day contacted Bexhill reserve team manager Chas Tibbutt last weekend to request the change as a result of fixture congestion. A new date, likely to be the following Tuesday or Wednesday, was expected to have been confirmed by the end of this week.

Sidley manager Andy Laskey said: "When it was arranged we over-looked the fact that the reserves were playing on the Tuesday night as well (as the first team, playing tomorrow, Monday and the following Saturday) and we couldn't have done it the justice it deserves really. But we're definitely up for playing it and it will definitely be the following week, on either the Tuesday or Wednesday. We will confirm it by the weekend."

Tibbutt concurred: "That's the only window of opportunity I could see because they're playing the midweek after that and we've got our (Hastings & District FA Intermediate Cup) final on April 20."
