John, of Mount View Road, Sompting, is pictured on the far left of the front row.

The team managed to go the entire season unbeaten, and did not concede a goal in the process.

John also pointed out that, in his clipping from the Herald, of Friday, April 12, 1957, D Packer’s surname, second from left on the back row, was misspelt Parker.
