Working alongside The Only Camp directors Freddie Pierrepont (RFU Level 3 Rugby Coach and Rugby Performance Manager at Hurstpierpoint College), ex-England and Harlequins rugby player Jordan Turner-Hall and Ollie Lindsay-Hague (England 7s, Rio Olympics Silver Medallist), 140 children joined the masterclass just before the government increased lockdown restrictions in the south-east.

Sussex based The Only Camps, leaders in offering expert-led sports camps and coaching for four to 16-year-olds, had announced an all-star line-up for their new Superstar Masterclass programme in December.

Masterclasses are run under each national governing body’s Covid regulations, in line with government guidelines. Children were temperature-checked on arrival, and were required to sanitise their hands and practice social distancing throughout the session. Children were placed in bubbles by age.

Robshaw said: “I thoroughly enjoyed working with The Only Camps to coach the next generation of rugby players. Their energy and enthusiasm for the game was awesome. The Only Camps did a superb job of implementing the national governing body’s Covid regulations and a lot of fun was had by all. I look forward to working with them again in the future.”

Director Freddie Pierrepont said: “We knew our rugby masterclass with Chris Robshaw would be popular and we were delighted to sell out, as we did across all of our masterclasses. We could not have been happier to have the opportunity to coach a record number of children over the three days, given the current climate.
