ITV Racing increase their Glorious Goodwood live coverage

They will be on air from 1.30 to 4pm from Tuesday to Friday and 1.30 to 4.30pm on Saturday, all on ITV.

The Opening Show preview programme will be on from 9.30 to 10.30am on Saturday on ITV4.

Normally they show four live races per day at Glorious but they are increasing the coverage in line with their much-praised efforts to bring racing to a wider audience during recent weeks when fixtures have been behind closed doors.

Saturday should be an extra-special day as Goodwood are being allowed to admit 5,000 racecourse members and guests to the racecourse as part of a government test of crowds being allowed back into major sport events.

Ed Chamberlin and Francesca Cumani host exclusive the free-to-air coverage live from Goodwood. Joining them for expert analysis will be Jason Weaver (every day) with reporting around the course from Rishi Persad (Tuesday to Friday), Luke Harvey (Tuesday to Thursday) and Mick Fitzgerald (Friday and Saturday).

Matt Chapman will bring betting news, Oli Bell will be in the social stable and Richard Hoiles and Mark Johnson in the commentary box.

The Opening Show, hosted by Bell alongside Chapman, Weaver and Johnson will look back at what should be a wonderful week of racing and preview the best of Saturday’s action, including the Stewards’ Cup.

There will also be a free-to-enter ITV7 competition.

ITV’s live festival coverage will also be simulcast on the ITV Hub, online and on the app, for viewers to watch – and the ITV Racing site - itv.com/racing will help bring the festival to life.

Highlights of the week are likely to be the mighty Stradivarius, ridden by the evergreen Frankie Dettori, going for a record-breaking fourth Goodwood Cup on Tuesday; a mighty clash on Wednesday in the Qatar Sussex Stakes between the likes of Siskin, Mohaather, Circus Maximus and Kameko; and Bataash going for a historic fourth win in Friday’s King George Stakes.
